10 pts to the best answer (with best link or referecne)

find where in the geneva treaty, the killing of civilians is outlawed. please be as detailed as possible. im looking for facts, not your opinion.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geneva_Conventions
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geneva_Conventions

im not sure what to think of that answer. I just had a long discussion about the treaty with someone and they said there was no justification for civilian deaths during war according to it, so im asking the y! answers community to prove it. Show me where it says, anything about civilian deaths in the treaty.

Will someone please tell me where the Geneva Convention covers terrorist/guerilla groups like the Democrats shout about?

As soon as I find a link to that one dealing with the context of this war, I’ll let you know.

Denver,Co or New York City for Democratic National Convention?

Posted by admin on September 27th, 2009 and filed under convention city | 4 Comments »

The choices have narrowed down to 2 cities,New York City and Denver,Co. Which city would you like to see hold the Democratic National Convention? I am partial to Denver because I live here and the city of Denver has promised lower Hotel costs than New York City. Is Denver ready to host just a big event ? Would New York City just be another ho-hum dull convention?
According to news reports,it is down to 2 cities ,Minnesota was not one of the states in consideration this time around.
I think the main reason why Denver might be choses is because of Hillary ,and if she is not chosen as the candidate for President, she would not look bad in her home state. That’s my view on that.
hey Neil..do you still have sour grapes in your mouth from the Nov. elections where Democrats swept the Nation?

I’ll vote for the :
middle of the Pacific" or about the center of ‘devil’s Sea"

As for the GOP,
I would say that the same location as the Titanic, or even Lusitania, would be best.

Shaitan called a world-wide Convention…?

Posted by admin on September 27th, 2009 and filed under convention services | 4 Comments »

Assalamualaikum

Shaytan called a worldwide convention.
In his opening address to his evil Jinns, he said, "We can’t keep the Believers from going to Masjids. We can’t keep them from reading their Qur`an and knowing the truth. We can’t even keep them from forming an intimate, abiding relationship experience with Allah".

Once they gain that connection with Allah, our power over them is broken. So let them go to their Masjids; let them have their conservative lifestyles, but steal their time, so they can’t gain that relationship with Allah.

This is what I want you to do Jinns. Distract them from gaining hold of their Lord and maintaining that vital connection throughout their day! "How shall we do this?" shouted his Jinns. "Keep them busy in the nonessentials of life and invent innumerable schemes to occupy their minds," he answered. "Tempt them to spend, spend, spend, and borrow, borrow, borrow. Persuade the wives to go to work for long hours and the husbands to work 6-7days each week, 10-12 hours a day, so they can afford their empty lifestyles. Keep them from spending time with their children. As their family fragments, soon, their home will offer no escape from the pressures of work!"

"Over-stimulate their minds so that they cannot hear that still, small voice. Entice them to play the radio or cassette player whenever they drive, to keep the TV, VCR, CDs and their PCs going constantly in their home and see to it that every store and restaurant in the world plays non-Qur`anic recitation constantly. This will jam their minds and break that union with Allah."

"Fill the coffee tables with magazines and newspapers. Pound their minds with the news 24 hours a day. Invade their driving moments with billboards. Flood their mailboxes with junk mail, mail order catalogs, sweepstakes, and every kind of newsletter and promotional offering free products, services and false hopes. Keep skinny, beautiful models on the magazines so their husbands will believe that external beauty is what’s important, and they’ll become dissatisfied with their wives. That will fragment those families quickly!"

"Even in their recreation, let them be excessive. Have them return from their recreation exhausted, disquieted, and unprepared for the coming week. Don’t let them go out in nature to reflect on Allah’s wonders. Send them to amusement parks, sporting events, concerts and movies instead. Keep them busy, busy, and busy! And when they meet for spiritual fellowship, involve them in gossip and small talk so that they leave with troubled consciences and unsettled emotions. Go ahead, let them be involved in soul winning; but crowd their lives with so many good causes they have no time to seek power from Allah."

"Soon they will be working in their own strength, sacrificing their health and family for the good of the cause. It will work! It will work!" It was quite a convention. The evil Jinns went eagerly to their assignments causing Believers everywhere to get busier and more rushed, going here and there. I guess the question is; has the devil been successful at his scheme?

To Be Protected From Satan
[23:97] Say, "My Lord, I seek refuge in You from the whispers of the devils.
[23:98] "And I seek refuge in You, my Lord, lest they come near me."

How can science of biology be brought in line with the theorems of the science of information technology?

Posted by admin on September 27th, 2009 and filed under convention information | 3 Comments »

This week new scientific findings on human genome were published. Analysis1% of the human genome have shown far more encoded functions in DNA than previously assumed. Parts previously labeled as "junk DNA" were found to be operational. Encoded information is stored in a bio-chemical media. There is a setup to copy and transcribe this information.
Theorems of information science are:
1: Information is neither matter nor energy.
2: Info is transmitted from author/sender to receiver.
3: Carrier/media is not part of information.
4: A code is an absolutely necessary condition for the representation of information.
5: The assignment of the symbol set is based on convention and constitutes a mental process.
6: Once the code has been freely defined by convention, this definition must be strictly observed thereafter.
7: The code used must be known to both transmitter and receiver if the information is to be understood.
8: Only structures based on a code can represent information.

They will never understand, life and reality just goes over the evolutionist heads. They will see one day hopefully not when it’s too late. One evolutionist’s comments I was reading said that genetics was the nail in the coffin for creationist but Jim your first answer says that genetics are baseless, so what do evolutionist stand behind. They sound a bit wishy washy to me. If something disproves their beloved theory they just dismiss the facts as things that don’t matter. God bless bro.

How many delegates would seat at convention if Florida election is upheld.?

Posted by admin on September 27th, 2009 and filed under convention at | 5 Comments »

Since both candidates followed rules and did not campaign in Florida why can’t they just let the vote count. If Florida was allowed to seat it’s delegates at the convention how many does Obama and Hillary get each?

156

Clinton won Fl

All candidates were on the ballot there when they voted.

So all thing equal no campaigning by either candidate .

Clinton was the clear choice winner and should get the delegates

The only Pro is for the contractors that will be hired to do the work. The cons should be the guys that got this run through on a deceptive vote and have the taxpayers paying for this but they’ll never be charged much less do time.

Human trafficking organization that was National Missionary Convention in Tulsa?

Posted by admin on September 27th, 2009 and filed under national convention | 1 Comment »

I’m sure there were a couple of different stand for human trafficking, but the one I’m trying to remember sold bracelets and was on the far left side when you walked in. Even if you didn’t go to the National Missionary Convention it would help if anyone could name off a few organizations if they know of any. Thanks :)

Try Amnesty International. They track this stuff.

I think it would be awesome if it were? if not where can i find a list of banned weapons from the Geneva Convention?

Do you think the democratic convention will allow the Michigan and Florida delegates to vote?

Posted by admin on September 27th, 2009 and filed under convention | 7 Comments »

Even though their punishment for breaking the rules lost them their delegate’s votes – do you think when it comes down to it that the convention will allow these delegate heavy states to vote? Is it a fair election if they are not allowed?

If Hillary needs those delegate votes to get the nomination, then "Yes".

There is also a good chance that it will be allowed in order to get the Florida and Michigan Democrat voters to the polls in November rather than stay home (which would make it easier for the Republican candidate to win those states).

What are the main conventions within the film Alien?

Posted by admin on September 27th, 2009 and filed under conventions | 1 Comment »

This is for Extension 1 English.

I need to discuss these conventions in order to comment as to why
Alien then attracted its sequels.

In several ways,"Alien" either busted conventions of sci/fi horror and set some on their ear. For instance, while it’s set in outer space, "Alien" is very much a "haunted house" story. "In space, no one can hear you scream" was the tag line used in the promotion of the original release and it’s true. There you are, stuck out in the middle of the galaxy,a monster on heels and there’s nowhere to run.
Second, the introduction of Ellen Ripley raised the bar for how women were portrayed, especially in the horror genre. Usually, the female characters stand around being decorative or screaming or fainting and basically getting in the way, but all that changed with this film and it set the bar several feet higher.
Third, there are the (for the time)amazing special effects, especially the various incarnations of The Creature, from the face-hugger(which creeps you out no end with the way it practically rapes it’s victims while implanting eggs in your chest cavity) and the almost beautiful legged creature with it’s sleek skin and double rows of teeth.
And, while "Alien" is very much a haunted house story, it’s sequel is a roller-coaster ride of a film, with 12 o’clock climax after 12 o’ clock climax, leading to the Ultimate Battle Royale between Ripley and The Alien Queen.
When Ripley appears in the mechanical heavy equipment loader and screams,"Get Away From Her,You B&^ch!" you can’t help but cheer her on.
These elements, plus solid characterizations and scripting are what made up the phenomenal success of the first two installments and (to a somewhat lesser degree)the next two. But all in all, The Alien Quadrilogy is arguably a masterwork of scfi/fi films and is the benchmark,in many respects for the continuing popularity of the genre itself.
