There were several pictures of him hobnobbing with the clueless party leaders.

If it wasn’t such a serious matter I think it is so funny but I wonder will they get into deep trouble and the people responsible for letting them in do they lose their jobs anyway, boy the people at the party will be not as easy I think to go up to strangers and have their pictures taken with them Oh and By the way she was the best looking one there I loved her dress ha ha!

I am going to an anime convention in san jose california and i need to know how much money i need to bring to spend just at the convention.

The most anime cravers usually spend is up to 100-500 dollars but i have never ever spent that much but i have seen people usually spend bettwen that much

My opinion is, it is. My major focus is on the bit about torture. A person will say anything to get out of it. And it’s inhumane, sure they do the same, but why follow their example? Show them you’re better than them?

This isn’t exactly based on now. It’s sorta more based on future and past I guess. I abhor the use of torture on anyone.

You are absolutely right. Geneva Convention is an extremely important document for any military combatants. It protects them against inhumane treatment such as torture and allows Red Cross to assess their condition on regular basis.

Time and time again, torture has been proven worthless as an information gathering device.

Why was the great compromise important at the constitutional convention? write clearly and dont be too descriptive. dont use big words.

It’s not allowed under the Geneva Conventions, serious war crime. Even persons who are not entitled to the protections of the 1949 Geneva Conventions (such as some detainees from third countries) are protected by the “fundamental guarantees” of article 75 of Protocol I of 1977 to the Geneva Conventions. The United States has long considered article 75 to be part of customary international law (a widely supported state practice accepted as law). Article 75 prohibits murder, “torture of all kinds, whether physical or mental,” “corporal punishment,” and “outrages upon personal dignity, in particular humiliating and degrading treatment, … and any form of indecent assault.”

Other international law confirms. Torture and other mistreatment of persons in custody are also prohibited in all circumstances under international human rights law, which applies in both peacetime and wartime. So if the US finally stops torturing that’s a good thing but it doesn’t make Obama a hero. First off this is not an American favor to the rest of the world. Torturing is not the norm. Not behaving criminally does not make you a hero, that should be considered normal like the fact I don’t rape children does not make me a hero. No reason to praise or worship people for doing what’s only normal. Furthermore Obama and the American government still fail their obligations under International law until all politicians of both corporate parties responsible for these crimes are brought to justice.

The most pathetic and despicable role in the glorification of Obama is being played by liberals and "lefts" associated with the Nation and similar publications. Through their campaign for his election and their portrayal of him as the leader of an insurgent movement for "American renewal" they are facilitating the implementation of right-wing policies that would otherwise be politically unfeasible, including the expansion of the war in Afghanistan, trillions more in handouts to the banks and cuts in bedrock social programs such as Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid.
It would, however, be a mistake to believe that the combination of deception and self-inebriation of this opportunist milieu is shared by the working class. It lives in the real world of surging unemployment, poverty and homelessness. Even to the extent that workers have expectations that Obama will realize their aspirations for genuine change, this will not stop them from entering into struggle. And events will, sooner rather than later, shatter their illusions and clarify that the new government is no less their enemy than the old one.

JW – Your backward thinking is not consistent with the Democratic Party. Palin SUPPORTED the Bridge while she was campaigning for governor, and it was a major issue then.
Steadway – She only rejected it after Congress threatened to cut off funding. She waited until the very end to flop on the national issue. Now, what about the earmarks she devoured for the most insignificant pursuits?

Now I do think it is fair to say one shouldn’t blame ALL democrats for the smears SOME choose to spread.

Just like Dems shouldn’t blame ALL republcians for the lies SOME spread about Obama. In fact, ifyou check my record, I have discounted the more outrageous lies agaisnt BOTH parties.

Even when they are targetting the candidate I am against. In that case I view them as a distraction from REAL criticisms.
