I’ve seen so much criticism and derision directed at Obama when he speaks without a teleprompter, how he sputters and stutters, and "umms" and "ahhs" and "errs", that I have to ask, will republicans prove what great orators they are and NOT use teleprompters at their convention?
I have no problem with teleprompters – it beats the hell out of a typical newscaster flipping through his notes while trying desperately to look like he is simply carrying on a conversation with the viewer.
The simple truth is that Obama, without his teleprompter and carefully prepared speeches, tends to become somewhat tongue tied when trying to answer random questions. One might say that he’s not too quick on the draw.
The Presidential debates should reveal if this criticism is valid or not.
Will Republicans forbid the use of teleprompters at their convention?

What is Barack Obama’s speech at the convention this week?
I heard he was speaking on Thursday at the Democratic Convention, but does anybody know what time, and what TV network(s) will be covering it? Thanks a lot
Oh, and this might sound stupid, but is there a TV network that is covering the whole convention, or at least most of the speeches? Or is it just one of those things where you have to watch the news about it?
Lol margaret h, you made my day.
Wall-to-wall, Thursday night.
There are a bunch of pre-speeches before he reads his.
The speeches will be preceded and followed by hours of network commentators talking about it.
If you don’t want to see it, rent a movie.
It will be replayed forever.
If you want the best coverage of the convention, try C-SPAN.
They’ll show the actual convention without a bunch of Hairspray Anchors and "Political strategists" who make things up as they go along. Those guys somehow think that what they have to say is more important than the convention.
Grab your remote and switch back and forth.
BTW, if you’re EVER going to watch FOX, this might be the time. They have a lot of Hillary’s old campaign staff which might be really interesting. They are now "supporting" Obama.
Why are the ABC news reporters so happy at the Democratic convention?
I noticed that the ABC reporters at the DNC are just giddy. They are all smiles and seem so happy about the convention. I just wonder if they will be the same way at the Republican convention? I have a feeling they will be more toned down and less excited.
Because democrats are normal people. Typically the fun and working everyday person. Republicans are usually conservative, dry and uptight so their conventions are bland and conservative and likely
no fun. Announcers were probably given instructions to be serious or republican-based advertisers would pull their ads and station revenue.

When you hear the drum-rolls to announce OBAMA the winner at the convention, what reaction might Hillary have?
Pee in her pants, sh*t in her pampers, lean to Bill and faint, or all of the above.
she she: I like what you’re thinking. Won’t you come and join us?
she she: Us means, you know, OBAMAMANIACS!
I am more interested in how the dems will react when mccain wins in november.
Are libs using Palin’s daughter to cover for their behavior at the Republican convention?
While they are on here taking cheap shots at Palins kids, libs are vandalizing cars and attacking people at the Republican convention. This comes after several were arested for bringing buckets of urine feces (only some sick, nasty loser would do that) to the protests.
In all fairness, not all of those protesters are liberals, some of then are Anarchists.

Have you heard that Hillary will announce her 2012 candidacy at the Democratic convention?
And that at the Republican convention, Romney will declare himself John McCain’s guardian?
Yes – poor old McCain does need a guardian these days. But it will soon be over. He’ll lose this upcoming election although the terrified right will beat the drum for him non-stop.
Then he can hit that rocking chair. McCain is in over his head at this point, and Obama is going to grind him up like a handful of wheat in a flour mill.
One wonders how the republicans could have been stupid enough to back McCain – most of them hated him from the beginning as too "liberal". It’s very odd. Obviously McCain pledged to continue the Neo-Con shell game and took to licking Bush’s boots.
It’s a sad and ugly thing!! Soon will be over.
What plan brought up at the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia favored large states?
What plan brought up at the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia favored large states?
The Virginia plan… it called for one legislative house that had representation based on population
The New Jersey plan called for one legislative house that had equal representation
The Connecticut plan was a compromise. It had 2 houses. One was based on population to appease large states. That house is now the House of Representatives. The other house had equal representation. That house is now the Senate. It was made to appease small states.
