In the center of 13th Street between J and L Street.
If possible, what’s the name of the artist and a picture showing me how the artpiece looks like.
It is in the center of 13th Street between J and L Street. If possible tell me the name of the artist as well. There is suppose to be plaque nearby showing the name and artist, however, I can’t seem to find it.
I live here (but in the suburbs) and offhand, I don’t know! There are quite a few down there, and a sculpture garden, too.
But I do know who to ask…!
Please send your inquiry to conventioncenter@cityofsacramento.org.
Good Luck!
I know there isn’t a Denny’s or Ihop, but I’m looking for a "family-friendly" type place like Denny’s or Ihop, less than a mile away from the convention Center.
You wont find that kind of place with in 1 mile of the convention center, out a few miles there are some late night Big Boys and Steak and shakes, nothing really close

Thanks…I am attending a convention in March and I need a hotel with a good location.
Below is a list of hotels less than a mile away from the convention center. If your going to stay for a few days i would recommend Seattle suites they have full kitchens and are very nice with great views. Hope this is useful!

Planning my first trip to Vegas in February. We will be attending a convention at the LVCC and looking for info on the best place to stay while there.
The Las Vegas Hilton is right next to it. Here is a map to view the entire area.

Going to New Orleans in June/July and have Qs. Last time I was there (5 yrs ago) I stayed at La Quinta Inn on Camp St. And it was good because it was close to the convention center (had to go during the day for meetings) and Burbon St (where I could party at night). What are some other NICE hotels I could stay at where I am between the convention center and Burbon St again.
For your purpose I think I would recommend the Renaissance Pere Marquette Hotel is newly renovated and is just across Canal about a block from the start of the French Quarter.
Renaissance Pere Marquette
(504) 525-1111
817 Common St
New Orleans, LA
You might also want to try
Monteleone Hotel
(504) 523-3341
214 Royal St
New Orleans, LA
There are really a lot of nice options, if you cross over Canal out of the french quarter I would recommend selecting something within about a block from Canal for desirable location.
P.S. The Wyndham mentioned above is no longer a Wyndham but cant recall what its called now.
I will have a rental car, so driving or walking are both options. Also, does anyone know the cost of daily parking at the convention center?
Looks like both the Doubletree Hotel at 185 Union Ave and the Hampton Inn & Suites at 175 Peabody Place are close. Oh those, I’d probably pick the Doubletree – I’d think you could walk fairly easily and you wouldn’t have to pay for parking both at your hotel and the convention center.
what are the pros and cons of the Dallas convention center hotel they are going to build? please any information or source would be great. thank you.
The only Pro is for the contractors that will be hired to do the work. The cons should be the guys that got this run through on a deceptive vote and have the taxpayers paying for this but they’ll never be charged much less do time.
My husband and I are going to see the Tyler Perry play on the Friday the 26th. We want to go to a nice restaurant maybe under $100 where we can eat creole/cajun(soul food) near the Convention center. I heard of Mulates but just not too sure about them. Any suggestions…
We are not tourist, just never really ate near the Convention center.
I am from New Orleans and lived here my whole life (21 years)
There are not that many restaurants in the Warehouse District; there are more in the downtown business district, right next to it. Mulate’s is very popular and serves fine Cajun food, which is very spicy (hot!). Mulate’s is located at the corner of Convention Center Blvd. and Julia St. There is a food court in the Riverwalk Mall, across the street from Mulate’s, which has plenty of places for sandwiches and a Mike Anderson’s Seafood outlet. Emeril’s is the only other restaurant I would recommend in the Warehouse District, but it is rather expensive. It’s at Julia and Tchoupitoulas Streets. They serve Creole food.
By the way, Creole, Cajun, and soul food are 3 DIFFERENT types of food in south Louisiana; they are NOT the same, and are not interchangeable. Cajun food is what the decendants of the French Acadians eat, and it’s highly seasoned and very spicy–that is, they use lots of cayenne pepper and Tabasco sauce. Creole food is a mixture of European, Caribbean and American influence, and is usually NOT that spicy; soul food is plain home cooking of certain dishes by Southern American black people. There used to be a soul food restaurant downtown, but I don’t think it’s open anymore since Katrina. It was the Two Sisters Kitchen, off Canal and Claiborne–I ate there a few times–excellent food and very filling.
