Can you help me with my algorithm for C++ Programming?

Problem:
The Caswell Catering and Convention Service has asked you to write a computer program to produce customer bills. The program should read in the following data from the user:
* Number of Meals
* Cost of a Meal
* Cost of a Dessert
* Room Fee
* Deposit
The following information is given:
* Tax rate is 8%
* Tip rate is 15%
Calculate the following costs:
* Total Cost for Meals
* Total Cost for Dessert (every meal will receive a dessert)
* Total Food Cost (cost for meals and costfor desserts)
* Total Tax (based on food cost)
* Total Tip (based on food cost)
* Balance Due (total food cost, total tax, total tip, room fee – less any deposit)
Display a bill to the screen that shows a heading ("Caswell Catering and Convention Service") along with a detailed listing of all of the user data, costs and balance due (13 items). Be sure your output is neatly lined up using appropriate setw and setprecision.

Algorithm:
This is what I have so far…

1. Get information from user
A.Number of Meals
B.Cost of a Meal
C.Cost of a Dessert
D.Room Fee
E.Deposit
2. Calculate the sum.
????

3.Calculate tax.
a. tax = sum * .08

4. Calculate tip.
a. tip = sum * .15

3. Display results

1. Get information from user
A. Number of Meals = int numMeals
B. Cost of a Meal = float costMeal
C. Cost of a Dessert = float costDessert
D. Room Fee = float costRoom
E. Deposit = float deposit

2. Calculate the total cost for the meals
float totalMealCost = numMeals * costMeal.

3. Calculate the total cost for the desserts
float totalDessertCost = numMeals * costDessert

4. Calculate the total food cost
float totalFoodCost = totalMealCost + totalDessertCost

5. Calculate the total tax
float tax = .08 * totalFoodCost

6. Calculate the total tip
float tip = .15 * totalFoodCost

7. Calculate the balance due
balanceDue = totalFoodCost + tax + tip + costRoom – deposit

8. Display all results, nicely ordered

Best credit cards for foreign currency purchases?

Posted by admin on November 11th, 2009 and filed under convention services | 2 Comments »

It used to be a good deal to use a credit card to make purchases overseas because they gave a current (and fair) exhange rate. However, I was surprised to recently find out that my credit card issuer (Chase) charged me a 3% service fee on all foreign currency transactions.

Is this now a convention among credit card companies? Or are there better credit cards out there for foreign currency purchases?

Thanks.

The credit card networks (Mastercard and Visa) have always charged the banks a 1% surcharge on foreign currency transactions, almost all banks pass on at least this surcharge. As you mention, many banks are also adding an additional surcharge on top of this (typically about 3%)

Capital One is the only major bank in the US that literally adds no surcharge (not even the 1%). HBSC, USAA and Washington Mutual pass along only the 1% charge.

Planing a trip to Los Angeles in march and wondering if theres like a shuttle service to diffrent locations?

We want to go to medevil times and will be staying in downtown near convention center.Thinking about taking thetrain down there but then wont have car so looking for other options to get around down there without a car.

Los Angeles has the worst public transportation system of any major city in the US. Buses are few and far between, and taxis are also hard to find and cost a fortune because everything is so spread out. Unfortunately, you really need a car there.

What’s the best hotel in Vegas off-the-strip but economical, clean and fairly close to strip?

Looking for a reasonably priced/per night hotel that has decent amenities, good service, clean rooms and is under $100/night even during conventions.

My three choices:
Gold Coast
Orleans
Las Vegas Club (downtown)
I would check the rates at all and go from there. I’ve been to Vegas over 30 times and split my visits between these 3 hotels. I would say Gold Coast has the best beds but the rooms have a small bathroom. The Orleans rooms are a little larger than normal and they have a great buffet. Vegas Club has awesome slots but there’s not much choice when it comes to restaurants. Another thing, if you’re not renting a car, Gold Coast and Orleans each have a shuttle that runs to/from the Strip. Vegas Club is downtown but it’s only $5-$10 to take a cab to the strip.

why should Ajmal Kasaab not be treated as prisoner of war?

Posted by admin on October 25th, 2009 and filed under convention services | 1 Comment »

after all there is a civil war going on between hindus and muslims and ajmal is a soldier caught fighting in this civil war. why should he not get all the benefit of a PRISONER of WAR under Geneva convention. and should be set free because his RIGHTS were violated he was tortured in prison by U.S. and Israeli secret service agents. which is a violation of his rights

Is there a civil war going on? Why hasn’t any side called for a UN intervention, then?
While I agree with you on the general principle, you have to realize that there’s no war unless both sides recognize it, and even then, the Geneva convention usually applies to the losing side only, what the winner does seems to be their problem. It’s sad, but that’s the way it is.
Btw, if Ajmal Kasaab was caught during the December attack in Mumbai, you have to admit that there were not many hindu militants fighting in the hotel, so it doesn’t really qualify as a war operation, no? :-)

Peter Parker more like undermining blue starters&selling them down the road !!!

Today might be the day, FP. But I think her time for her doing it gracefully has already passed. lol
