I am planning to go to the Los Angeles convention center near Staples center. Any tips on parking? The nearest hotels are about a half mile away so I was planning on driving but didnt know where to park and how much. Does the convention center have a multlevel garage? Please help.
The LA convention center does have a very large underground parking structure. Parking is usually $12 (flat fee, no in and out), which is kind of expensive, but considering the convenience, not out of line for downtown parking. However, I do recommend taking metro rail or the downtown DASH buses if possible. The metro blue line Pico Ave station is just one block away and is a very convenient way to go (fun for people watching). Downtown Dash bus route F goes to the convention center from 6:30am to 6:30pm every weekday, and routes F and DD go there on weekends. A Metro day pass is $3 for unlimited rides all day, and dash buses are 25 cents per ride.

Los Angeles convention center has a large parking structure and I suggest you park there. The downtown area has many one way streets and you can get stuck in those and end up in some very not desirable parts of LA … Play it safe. Prices for parking there are not cheap, probably around $10-$15.

Or, stay at a hotel close to a Red Line station, leave your car….take any Red Line subway train to the Metro Center station and take the Blue Line one or two exits south and the Staple’s Center is right there

I would consider using either the DASH downtown shuttle system to get there from your hotel it only costs a quarter to ride. Also the MTA Blue line subway stops near the convention center at the Pico station.
