I am traveling to San Francisco and will be there in late May. Any good concerts or conventions? Are the city pass or San Francisco Go cards worth purchasing?
Looking at the 2 side by side the go card looks like quite a bargian but I think unless you are superman finding time to do everything they cover would be pretty much impossible. In addition they do not include unlimited muni access so you would still have to pay for that.
The City pass doesn’t have as many options but it does include unlimited muni access. It is much less expensive over all and includes most of the things I would want to do on a visit to the city.
I guess it would depend on if you want to explore the city or spend all your time running from one attraction to the next. I’m more of a seat of my pants type traveler so I’d probably go for the Citypass.

The Go cards are a deal if you plan on visiting a *lot* of museums, theme parks, tours, etc. If not, they’re not.
The City Pass is good value if you’re going to be using public transportation, especially if you’ll be staying on or near the cable car line, as it provides free transport (and the fare currently is $5 each trip, each direction).
