I love the Full … I love the Full house LP. For some strange reason I only saw Fairports once – in 1978. I didn’t know what to expect – this was the height of punk rock after all. They were amazing – infact the two LPs they made for Vertigo at this time are great. Swarbrick was incredible that night.
Wasn’t that a fkn … Wasn’t that a fkn phenomenal performance from Dave Swarbrick! Wasn’t it good to see Richard Thompson in the ‘Henry the Human Fly’ days. “Wheely Down’ from that Richard Thompson debut album still gives me the chills (although not on this vid), and such great sound mixing (comparatively). The other parts of this series are equally well mixed, a rarity for most vids of this era. Classic material, thanks smorodina, u r obviously well educated!
I just the got the … I just the got the DVD of this and was disappointed that they cut out the bit where Swarb says “I’m not bleeding ready, am I!”
They fade it down after he says “Stop”.
Great!!! Absolutely … Great!!! Absolutely amazing! I wish I had been there…I love this line-up, especially Swarbrick’s violin play and I love to watch Thompson in his pre-Sufi period. I hope to find more of them on YouTube soon!
Parts 2 and 3 were … Parts 2 and 3 were already here in various forms. the film was not very long and included a couple of songs from Mathews Southern Comfort, but there’s also a bit more Fairport to come.
Oh, yeah!!! … Oh, yeah!!! thank you so much for this one – man they ran away with it toward the end I mean, thats the real thing – almost the exact same line up that played that song on Liege and Lief!
Wow, brilliant … Wow, brilliant stuff. I saw a copy of this video go on ebay, but I didn’t bid because it was far too much. The part one in the title implies you intend to upload the rest… please please please please? =D
