What is the best way to cosplay if you can’t go to conventions?

Other than Halloween?
I cosplayed twice, Misa Amane to the DN movie at the theater and Aerith Gainsborough for Halloween. But how do I cosplay if I absolutley can’t go to a con?

Also do you think it is a waste of money to try to make a perfect costume[like buy exact fabric, simalar wig, shoes, etc.] if you don’t go to conventions?

Honestly you can cosplay anywhere, go to like a walmart and just goof off with friends in costumes, or try and start something for the anime luvers in your area, talk with your local library, sometimes they have anime groups. Personally I think cosplay is a Fun group thing anywhere.

Start a cosplay group. Make parodies of your fav animes. It’d be fun. Video tape it and post it online.

You can practically cosplay anytime you want. It’s just that cosplaying something super extraordinary would attract a lot of attention (Dressing up as misa might seem pretty normal because its normal clothes, but dressing up as Ryuk? OMG)

And, I think its that its a waste of money to buy materials for a costume (that is heavy materials, not like Amane’s clothing) if you are not going to a convention.

I think the point of wearing a costume is to show other people. but whats the point if no one knows about it. right?
