Most generally blogs are free to the user so that the most cost to you is your time. Blogs are a great way for a company to save on advertising costs because on a blog they can advertise for free . Again with a domain they do not have this option

Search sites love blogs. They are so key rich that the web crawlers will attach themselves straight away. With a domain it will take time to form keywords that search websites will adore.
